Marriage Licensing

Applying for a Marriage License or Civil Union, the application must be made in the Municipality where either applicant resides. If neither applicant resides in New Jersey, the application must be made in the Municipality where the Ceremony is going to take place.  Please call ahead to make an appointment.  The Marriage License Application is available in the office and on our website below.  Please fill out the front portion of the Application prior to coming into the office, the back portion is to be completed by the Registrar. 

Required documents when applying for a marriage license:

  • Front should be completed before arriving for your appointment.
  • Back of the form will be filled out in the office at your appointment. 
• Proof of identity by presenting your driver’s license, passport, or state/federal I.D.
• Proof of residency by one applicant if an NJ resident (This can be the same as ID if the address matches!)
• Social Security number 
• A witness, 18 years of age or older
• $28 application fee.  Payment must be cash or check.  Checks are payable to the Borough of Haddon Heights. No Credit Card/Debit Cards Accepted

Certified Copies

You may obtain a copy of a birth, death, or marriage certificate from the Registrar's office. The Borough only holds records of events that have occurred within the Borough of Haddon Heights.  

Required documents for a Certified Copy:

• Completed Application for a Copy of a Vital Record. PDF available below
• Proof of identity by presenting your driver’s license, passport, or state/federal I.D.
• $10 / per copy fee. 
  Payment can be cash or check.  Checks are payable to the Borough of Haddon Heights.
