Sanitary Sewer Service Fee

The Borough of Haddon Heights will be implementing a Sanitary Sewer Service Fee later this year. The purpose of the fee is to fund a Capital Improvement Program for improving and repairing the current sanitary sewer system. The Borough’s Sanitary Sewer System was initially constructed in 1911. Sections of the gravity sewer system are over 110 years old, while the overall average age of the system as a whole is between 70-95 years old. The materials used when the system was installed do not last indefinitely and are reaching or are beyond their useful life. Mayor and Council are proactively preparing for the inevitable improvements that will be needed to keep failures from occurring.  Emergency repairs typically run well over three times the cost of normal repair and maintenance. In order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of the Borough of Haddon Heights and to keep the system working properly, Ordinance 2024:1539 was adopted by the Mayor and Council in January of this year.  The fee for a single-family dwelling will be $120 annually. The Ordinance and additional information are listed below. Please note that a detailed letter regarding the implementation of the sewer fee will be mailed out to all residences and businesses.
