Legalized Games of Chance
If a resident, civic group, or committee wishes to hold a Raffle, Bingo, Casino Night, or any other type of Legalized Game of Chance, they must first obtain a license by the Borough Clerk. Below are the regulations to apply for a Raffle and/or Bingo License:
- The Applicant MUST first receive a registration and ID number from the New Jersey Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission
- Applications must be received by the Borough Clerk at least two (2) months prior to the event, as it it is subject to Council and State approval
- For Bingo, a Certificate of the Landlord shall be obtained from the landlord where the event is to be held and attached to the application, such certificate to be on form 10-A.
- Raffles, Certificate of the Lessor shall be obtained from the raffle equipment supplier and attached to the application, such certificate to be on Form 13
- Applications must include:
- four (4) original copies of the application
- a copy of the State of New Jersey Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission registration
- a sample ticket
- $20 fee made out to the Borough of Haddon Heights
- $20 fee made out to the "Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission"
- For a raffle, the cost to the Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission is $20 for every $1,000 that the prize is worth (for example, if the prize is worth $2,000, the fee would be $40)
